How do I bid?

There is no buyer’s commission

To bid you need a bidding ID. To do this please fill your personal details and enter your own Username and Password in the Login section. (Registration is fully secure, completed in person at our premises, on the website, or via telephone/fax – see registration).

  1. Once you’ve entered your username and password, you can go to the category that you are interested in. [The lots will then be listed by the author’s surname in alphabetical order.]

  2. Find a lot and then click on the “author” and you will be given additional information.

  3. At the bottom of the description page you will be able to place a bid, or by entering a proxy bid amount.

Try not to leave the bidding for the last minute, as there are time delays, which are integral to the Internet.

Entering a proxy bid amount

The value entered here, by you, authorizes us to act on your behalf, up to that amount.

For example; one could leave a proxy bid of say $400 on a lot, while the last bid may only be at $125. With this your bid will go up in increments until you’ve won, or until your proxy bid is exceeded.

If the last competitive bid is say $170, then your authorised proxy would allow AuctionExplorerBooks.com to knock the item down to you for $178.50; even though you were prepared to go up to $400.

AuctionExplorerBooks.com is an online auction only. No other means of bidding will be accepted. For example, telephone bids and fax bids will not be accepted.

Built-in Security Measures

When using AuctionExplorerBooks.biz you are responsible for:

  1. The use of your username and password.

  2. Verifying the Bid and/or Proxy Amounts selected.

  3. Clicking the "OK" button when confirming (2).

  4. Please read the sellers’ preferred payment method and cost of postage before you place a bid.

The three simple steps of: selecting, entering, and confirming a bid enables you to use extreme care and awareness, thereby allowing you to command the process on multiple levels.

Bidding on the Internet is final and binding; just as it is in conventional auctioneering. AuctionExplorerBooks.com has been constructed with the same protocol, etiquette, methodology, and integrity as that of a traditional auction.

Special care should be taken, with the use of the above mouse and keyboard strokes, before clicking the confirmatory "OK" button and sending the bid on it's way. Feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.
